WarnerMedia has greenlit Chinese period drama “Legacy” as part of its new HBO Asia Original slate, the regional programmer said this afternoon during APOS 2021.
Created by Yu Zheng (“Story of Yanxi Palace”), “Legacy” is the story of three sisters from the wealthy Yi family who compete to inherit their father’s business. As the upheaval of the 1920s unfolds, the three set aside their differences to keep the business afloat and save their family.
“Legacy” stars Qin Lan, Wu Jinyan and Nie Yuan, all from “Story of Yanxi Palace”, as well as Han Geng (“Ex-Files”), Liu Jun (All is Well), Miao Pu (“The Rise of the Tang Empire”) and Zhang Nan (“The Legend of Haolan”).
“Legacy” will premiere exclusively on WarnerMedia’s regional streaming service HBO GO later in 2021, along with original mystery series “Forbidden”, currently in production in Thailand; the third season of action-fantasy series “Halfworlds” produced in the Philippines; and the return of horror anthology series “Folklore” for a second season.
