Southeast Asia drama platform, Viddsee, has partnered with mainland Chinese investment/licensing outfit, RisingJoy, to bring Chinese micro-dramas to the short-form platform.
Details of the collaboration are thin, but the companies did say that the first set of Chinese micro drama titles was slated for release on Viddsee in the second half of this year.
The collaboration, announced today, builds upon Viddsee’s two-year-old vertical micro-series production initiative.
Additional micro-dramas could be on the way.
Ho Jia Jian, Viddsee CEO/founder, said the RisingJoy collaboration marked “the beginning of several such partnerships, through which we aim to diversify our content offerings”.
RisingJoy was founded by former Turner distribution exec, Cassandra Yang.
