Taiwanese government agency, Taiwan Creative Content Agency (Taicca), is making its latest play for European alliances this month, using this year’s Far East Film Festival (FEFF) in Udine to push its international creative and co-production agenda and to showcase new productions. The festival runs from 22-30 April. Four Taiwanese films and two other projects have been selected for various festival events, including two features that will compete in the competition. The two films are "Incantation", written/directed by Kevin Ko, and "Mama Boy" by Arvin Chen.
"Terrorizers" by Wi Ding Ho and Chih-hsin Hu, screens as part of the Best of the Best section, while "Swordsman of All Swordsmen", restored by Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, has been included in the Restored Classics section.
"Imprisonment" produced by Szu Mei Tung and directed by Tzu-Hsuan Hung, and "Borderless" produced by Susan Huang and directed by Chun-Teng Chu, will participate in the project market.
Taicca, which is running a dedicated Taiwan Showcase on 26 April, is also working with festival organisers on pitching workshops and co-production opportunities. The five projects selected for the Focus Asia Taiwan showcase include "Grandma" and "Her Ghosts 2" – "Baby Power" by Shau-di Wang/ Farmers Joy International Co; and "Forbidden Blossoms", directed by Ha-Poi Cheng/Hyper Pictures.
