Thai filmmaker Sitisiri Mongkolsiri’s “Hunger” captured the #1 spot on Netflix’s non-English film charts for the week of 10-16 April, rising from #2 the previous week to topple Sung-hyun Byun’s high-hype Korean feature, “Kill Boksoon”.
In its second week on the top 10, “Hunger” attracted 43.6 million viewing hours against the 8.6 million hours for “Kill Boksoon”, now in its third week on the chart.
“Hunger” is about Aoy, who runs her family’s street food stall, and Chef Paul, an aloof culinary master who leads a team of top private chefs.
The film was in the top 10 in 91 countries, and #1 in 50 countries for the week.
“Kill Boksoon” was in the top 10 in 28 countries and #1 only in Korea.
