Singapore-based mm2 Asia group has reported a 146.1% revenue growth to S$128.7 million/US$96 million and a return to profits for the six months to the end of September.
Celebrating what it called “a strong recovery from the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic,” the company reported a net profit of S$3 million/US$2.2 million compared to a loss of S$5.4 million/US$4 million in the same period the previous year.
The content business grew 36% to S$58.5 million/US$44 million and concert/event business revenues grew more than 9x to S$66.4 million/US$50 million.
Net losses at mm2’s cinema business dropped from S$7.1 million/US$5.3 million to S$4.6 million/US$3.4 million.
The Group said it “remains committed to growing its cinema business” and flagged two new sites in Malaysia in 2023 and 2025, as well as a new cinema outlet in Singapore this month.
