Philippines’ family drama, "Rewind", became the highest-grossing Filipino film worldwide by the end of last week, hitting Ps889 million/US$16 million sales globally as of 26 January 2024.
According to Star Cinema parent, ABS-CBN, the film is still showing in 270 theatres around the world, including the U.S., Canada, the Middle East and Australia, with additional openings to come.
Starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, "Rewind" is about a husband who, after years of marriage, shifts priorities. This strains his relationship with his wife, who dies after a tragic accident. Then an extraordinary proposition allows him to turn back time.
Directed by Mae Cruz Alviar ("Four Sisters Before the Wedding"), 'Rewind' was the top grossing film in Philippines’ domestic box-office history a month after its theatrical release last year, breaking records set by co-Star Cinema blockbuster hits "Hello, Love, Goodbye" and "The Hows of Us".
"Rewind" is a collaboration between Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, and Agosto Dos Media.
