Multiple Chinese platforms have added BBC’s “Planet Earth III” to their line-ups in a raft of international pre-sales for the eight-part series announced at Mipcom today.
In China, the show has been acquired by Shanghai Media Group for its linear channel and by streaming platforms including Bilibili, iQiyi, Tencent Video, Youku and China Mobile’s Migu Video.
In Japan the show is a co-production in association with public broadcaster, NHK.
The series will also air in Australia and New Zealand in deals with Nine and TVNZ.
“Planet Earth III” which will also air/stream on BBC-branded channels and platforms across Asia, including Sony BBC Earth in India.
“Planet Earth III” is produced by BBC Studios’ Natural History Unit and co-produced by BBC America, ZDF and France Télévisions in partnership with The Open University.
