Philippines’ subscription TV platform Cignal adds Rewind Networks’ Hits Now service to its line up from 1 October with a mixed genre offering that includes express-window 12-hour rights to “Entertainment Tonight”; and shows such as “American Idol”, “America’s Got Talent”, “Survivor” and “Hell’s Kitchen” within 48 hours of the U.S. broadcast.
The seven-month-old regional service, distributed in multiple formats including on-demand and linear, will be available as part of Cignal’s postpaid and prepaid packs, the companies said today ahead of tonight’s APOS opening in Bali.
The line-up also includes “Shark Tank”, “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” and “The Traitors”, along with drama series such as “Fire Country”, “Sullivan’s Crossing” and “So Help Me, Todd”, among others.
Hits Now goes live on the 14-year-old Cignal, part of the MediaQuest Holdings empire, as Disney continues to pull Fox/Star channels off air in the region.
The Philippines is the Hits Now brand’s third market, after Singapore and Indonesia, which launched in February this year.
Hits Now is Rewind Networks’ third service after Hits, which launched in 2013, and Hits Movies, which launched in 2018.
Hits and Hits Movies are available in 13 countries with reach of more than 24 million households.
