Malaysian 3D-animated TV property, "Didi & Friends", embarks on its first theatrical adventure on 23 February, adding a handful of celebrity-voiced characters for its feature film debut and celebrating its first collaboration with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Dewan Filharmonik Petronas.
The 104-minute animated musical feature, "Didi & Friends The Movie", will be released across Malaysia on 23 February, aiming to appeal to children and families.
The film is produced by Astro Shaw, Warnakala Studios and Digital Durian Animation Studios in collaboration with government agency, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
New characters are voiced by Awie as Tok Chip, Amelia Henderson as Captain Zoey, Waris as Torra and Ruminah Sidek as Nek Kura.
Nur Insyeerah returns as Didi with Adilia Myra as Nana and Adam Muqri as Jojo.
The film, directed by Akmal Azz Asmawi and Roshfaizal Ariffin, opens with Didi’s excitement turning to disappointment when Pak Atan issues orders to stay in Pekan Horey instead of joining an adventure in search of a magical potion.
The film features 11 songs, including the theme song Luar Biasa, performed and composed by Malaysian singer Hael Husaini, as well as Kembali Bersama, performed by Modescape and composed by Shah.
Saiful “Duan” Ridzuan (Olabola, Puteri Gunung Ledang Musical), is the film’s musical director.
