Netflix won the streaming week in Vietnam, taking two of the top three titles on the list of shows most in demand from 2-8 January, according to data science platform Parrot Analytics.
Netflix’s historical horror thriller, "Gyeongseong Creature", attracted enough demand to rise to second place on the overall TV list, about two points behind the week’s overall winner, iconic Japanese anime series, "Jujutsu Kaisen".
The top local show on both the general and the streaming list for the week was Netflix period horror series, "Hellbound Village", hailed in Vietnam as the first of its kind production.
The 12-episode series is based on Thao Trang’s bestselling horror novel about a village chief, a beggar and a tavern owner and a series of gruesome events.
"Hellbound Village" was Netflix’s top show in Vietnam for six weeks from its October 2023 premiere and spent 12 weeks on the country’s top 10.
