Netflix has acquired exclusive global rights to Chinese-language series, “Mom, Don’t Do That!”, from CJ ENM HK and Taiwanese production company Butt Mountain.
Netflix will air the 11-episode series – a co-production with Taiwanese production company, Butt Mountain and supported by TAICCA (Taiwan Creative Content Agency) – across its 190-country footprint.
The premiere date has not been disclosed.
“Mom, Don’t Do That!” claims to reshape “perceptions” of middle age and “overturn traditional mindsets” with a story of a widow who finds new love.
The series is co-directed by Chen Wei-ling and Li Jun-hong, and stars Billie Wang in her first TV role in 15 years, Kou Hsi-shun, Alyssa Chia, Alice Ko, Chris Wu and Austin Lin.
The executive producers are Sarso Chou, Weiling Chen and Michael Jung, CJ ENM’s managing director.
