Malaysia’s Telekom Malaysia (TM) and Digi have unveiled a new collaboration designed to boost high-speed broadband access across the country.
The alliance involves offering Digi subscribers access to TM’s fibre network, and fast-tracks Digi’s national expansion.
Digi says the new deal will open fibre access to another three million homes.
The new deal builds on the two companies already-close relationship. TM said during the announcement that it has always been “a strong advocate of infrastructure sharing”. The telco also said it would “continue to play our unique role as a neutral provider by providing open access for access seekers amongst fellow industry player”.
The two also talked about the benefits of avoiding infrastructure duplication.
