Long-running Malaysian animated property, "Upin & Ipin", narrowly beat local superhero "Ejen Ali" at the top of Malaysia’s TV demand charts for the week of 24-30 January, according to data science company Parrot Analytics.
Demand for a third property – "Boboiboy: Galaxy" – gave locally produced animation three of the top five spots on the overall TV list for the week.
Malaysia’s appetite for animation extended to Japanese anime series, "One Piece", which was fifth on the overall list, giving animated shows four of the country’s top five spots.
HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama, "The Last of Us", was the week’s unrivalled drama winner in third place, way ahead of the other two dramas that made the top 10 – Turkish crime series "Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz" and "House of the Dragon".
Made-for-streaming titles fell back to single digit demand for the week, led by Amazon Prime Video’s "The Boys".
