Korean drama just had its worst week on Netflix this year, plunging to just two spots in the global non-English top 10 TV list as a variety of European drama titles swept screens around the world.
The top three titles for the week of 11-17 September were “Dear Child” (Germany), Spanish crime series “Burning Body” and Mexican murder mystery “Thursday's Widows”.
The top Korea show of the week was romantic time travel series, “A Time Called You”, which placed fourth with three million views and a total of 36.5 million hours.
“A Time Called You” is based on a 2019 Taiwanese series “Someday or One Day”. The series was produced by Npio Entertainment, a subsidiary of SLL/JTBC, and Lian Contents.
The second Korean title on the list was “Destined with You”, also from SLL/JTBC, which placed fifth with 8.1 million hours viewed and 1.8 million views.
In addition to “Thursday's Widows”, four of the top 10 titles this week were new entrants – Norwegian crime series “Gangs of Oslo”, French biographical drama “Class Act”, Polish musical “Infamy” and Brazilian crime comedy “Reporting for Duty”.
