Amazon Prime Video premieres new seasons of two Japanese format adaptations – dating reality show "The Bachelorette Japan" S2 and Korean singing/mystery format, "The Masked Singer Japan" S2 – in July and August.
Both titles were part of the streamer’s originals slate announced for Japan in March this year.
The first three episodes of "The Bachelorette Japan" season two, based on the Warner Bros format, premiere on Thursday, 7 July at 10pm. The season will run for 10 episodes, with the finale on 28 July.
The Japanese remake of MBC Korea’s "The Masked Singer" premieres on 4 August 2022.
"The Bachelorette Japan" S2, filmed in Chiang Mai/Thailand from Oct to Dec 2021, is produced by YD Creation, which also produced sister format, "The Bachelor Japan" S4.
"The Bachelorette Japan" S2 features Miki Ozaki, an entrepreneur and president of a cosmetics company, and 17 male participants vying to be her partner.
"The Masked Singer Japan" S2 returns season one host, Yo Oizumi, and panelists comedian/actor Kazuya Kojima, guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer/actor Miyavi and local pop girl group Perfume.
Kojima will also take on the MC role for episodes seven to nine.
New guest judges are Karen Takizawa for episodes eight and nine, Hiroya Yamazaki (episode 5, 6, 9), Hiroyuki Morisaki (episodes 7-9), Sachiko Kobayashi (episodes 3-5), Miki Mizuno (episode 2); and Anna Tsuchiya (episodes 6, 6-8).
