Japanese pay-TV platform Wowow has picked up season two of Black Camel Pictures’ drama, "Annika", in a deal with All3Media International, the companies said today as this year's ATF market opened in Singapore.
Wowow also re-licensed season one.
Nicola Walker ("The Split") reprises her role as DI Annika Strandhed in the new season.
Based on the BBC Radio 4 play "Annika Stranded", "Annika" follows the sharp, witty and enigmatic head of a specialist Marine Homicide Unit in Scotland.
Also returning for the second season are Jamie Sives ("Guilt"), Katie Leung ("The Nest"), Ukweli Roach ("The Midwich Cuckoos") and Silvie Furneaux ("Limbo").
"Annika" is written by Nick Walker and directed by Philip John ("Downton Abbey") and Fiona Walton ("London Kills").
