ITV Studios and Zhejiang Media Group are kicking off their newly minted and open-ended global co-development alliance with unscripted series “Go! Fishing!", the two companies said today during the London Screenings.
The competition format, which taps global interest in fishing, was developed between China, ITV Studios' APAC HQ in Australia and head office in the U.K. Details will be released in the coming months.
Today’s announcement was made by Shen Jian, editor-in-chief, Zhejiang Satellite TV, Zhejiang Media Group, who said the "Go Fishing" was expected to launch in China and internationally in 2025, and Ruth Berry, ITV Studios’ president global partnerships and new digital/gaming label, Zoo 55.
“We are definitely seeing an appetite globally for new formats that explore universal themes through different cultures,” Shen said in the announcement.
The alliance caps a long-standing relationship between Zhejiang Satellite TV and ITV Studios and marks the start of fresh international ambitions for the Zhejiang media company, said Jiang Minhao, member of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Satellite TV (China Blue New Platform), deputy editor-in-chief of Zhejiang Satellite TV, and director of Zhejian Xinlan Network Media Co.
"Go! Fishing", which Jiang said taps a popular leisure sport with a huge fan base in China, will be produced by Zhejiang Satellite TV and its 1,200 strong team in China. ITV Studios' will represent the co-development internationally.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Jiang said in the past decade the two companies had co-operated on four projects.
The deal was brokered for ITV Studios by Augustus Dulgaro, EVP sales, Asia Pacific, and Zoe Tsui, head of content and format sales for Greater China.
"We are in a market that is changing rapidly, and this taps a new opportunity to develop new IP that can expand our commercial and creative base," Dulgaro said.
ITV Studios full 2025 slate showcased in London today includes nine formats, covering family entertainment, social experiment, and prime-time entertainment.

Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters
Compelling natural history meets adrenaline-fuelled entertainment as ocean-phobic celebrities come face-to-face with nature’s most terrifying underwater predators in this ambitious new hybrid format. Offering broadcasters an innovative way to mark the 50th anniversary of iconic film Jaws, Shark! A group of famous faces travel to the tropical paradise of the Bahamas, the shark capital of the world with one of the greatest diversities of shark species on the planet. Across the series, they face increasingly nerve-testing challenges on land and at sea, all designed to prepare them for each episode’s spine-chilling climax – getting up close with a bigger, more terrifying species of shark. On their journey from meeting metre-long nurse sharks in the shallows to massive six-metre-long apex predator tiger sharks of the deep, their first-hand experiences will provide immeasurable excitement. But as they learn to overcome their worst fears, we also get a new perspective on nature’s so-called ‘villains’, realising that sharks have much more to fear from us than we do from them – and that a world without them is actually the most frightening prospect of all…
