India’s revamped Discovery+ streaming platform has bought rights to Atlantic Productions’ “Attenborough’s Journey”, adding the look back at Sir David Attenborough’s career in broadcasting to its existing slate of Attenborough titles, including “David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities”, “Planet Earth” and others.
The programme is one of 300+ hours of scripted and unscripted programming sold to India, the U.K.-based ITV Studios said this afternoon as this year’s ATF market wrapped.
In other deals, Lionsgate Play in India has picked up rights for World Productions’ new thriller “Vigil”. The on-demand platform also added “Romulus”, about the founding of Rome, “The Singapore Grip” and “Little Birds” to its India line up.
Other shows going to India include “Love Island USA”, bought by Viacom18. Earlier this year ITV Studios sold 185 hours of scripted content to SonyLiv.
