ITV Studios closes 2021 with a raft of scripted sales across Asia, including pre-sales for new shows “Anne”, “The Ipcress File”, “Holding”, “Redemption”, “Our House” and series two of “Noughts + Crosses”.
In Hong Kong, Now TV picked up spy thriller from Altitude Film Entertainment, “The Ipcress File”, which has also sold to Lionsgate Play in India/Southeast Asia and TFC in Japan.
TFC also acquired thriller “Vigil” (World Productions).
Elsewhere in Japan, Wowow acquired series six of World Productions’ “Line of Duty” and “The Bay” (Tall Story Pictures), “Endeavour” (Mammoth Screen) and “Snowpiercer” (Tomorrow Studios and Studio T).
Japanese channel, AXN Mystery, licensed a number of titles, including Silverprint Pictures’ “The Long Call”.
KT Corp in Korea bought “Anne” (World Productions), the story of Anne Williams, an inspirational mother who dedicated her life to campaigning for justice following her son’s death at the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough in 1989.
As part of its long-running output deal, KT Corp bought “Showtrial” (World Productions), which also sold to Lionsgate Play for India and Southeast Asia.
KT Corp and U-Next in Japan picked up rights to non-English language dramas, including series four of Beaubourg Stories’ crime procedural, Balthaza.
