iQiyi kicks off production on its latest original drama, Korean series “Shooting Stars”, the Chinese/regional streamer said on opening day of this year’s ContentAsia Summit today.

The romantic drama series is co-produced with Studio Dragon and stars Lee Sung-kyoung (“Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo”) and Kim Young-dae (“The Penthouse: War in Life”).

Kim Young-dae plays a star who falls in love with the publicity head of his talent agency, played by Lee Sung-kyoung.

“Shooting Stars”, scheduled to premiere in 2022, follows iQiyi’s first Korean original with Studio Dragon – “My Roommate is a Gumiho”.

The series will be available exclusively on iQiyi in 191 countries.
