The eight-part show, developed and produced by CreAsia Studio and commissioned by the MNC Media-owned VISION+, will air in Indonesia in early 2026.
Set against the backdrop of Asian food culture, “My Chef in Crime” follows a former forensic investigator turned chef who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of his rival. To clear his name, he applies his forensic expertise to food science experiments, catching the attention of a female detective – his high-school crush.

Dhar, founder & group CEO for Banijay Asia & Endemol Shine India, highlighted the mix of crime, food and romance, and said the series was “a bold, original concept that reflects our commitment to delivering premium entertainment across the region”.
“My Chef in Crime” marks the expansion of VISION+’s original drama production activities, which have produced titles such as this year’s comedy-romance,“Culture Shock”, starring Shahabi Sakri as a barista opposite Davina Karamoy and Ajil Ditto.
“Culture Shock” was Netflix’s top show in Indonesia for the week of 24 Feb-2 March – the only local Indonesian title to make #1 on Netflix’s Indonesia list this year so far.
VISION+ is also behind “Have a Nice Date”, directed by Indra Wang, about a young woman who joins a dating app after a break-up; and the eight-episode “Cidro Asmoro” (“Heartbreak of Love”, 2023) about a man’s quest to become a campursari musician. The series was produced by Vision Pictures and directed by Puguh P. S. Admaja.
