India’s active free/paying DTH subscriber numbers dropped 4.8% to 65.58 million for the quarter to the end of 30 September 2022 from 68.89 million in the same quarter the previous year, according to Indian regulator TRAI’s latest “Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report”, released this month.

The latest report also says there were approx. 885 permitted private satellite TV channels (906 in Q3 2021) and 815.93 million broadband subscribers (794.88 million in Q3 2021).
