Hong Kong’s Now TV has followed Indonesia’s Mola TV into the darker side of 1960s London in a licensing deal with France’s Studiocanal for premium drama series “Ridley Road”.
The four-episode thriller, based on the book by Jo Bloom, stars Agnes O’Casey as Vivien, a young Jewish woman who falls in love with a member of a coalition fighting neo-Nazism in post-war Britain and risks everything for him.
Tom Varey (“Game of Thrones”), Rory Kinnear (“Skyfall”) and Eddie Marsan (“Ray Donovan”) also star.
The TV series was written by Sarah Solemani (“Chivalry”) and produced by Studiocanal’s Red Production Company for BBC One and Masterpiece.
Series producer is Betsan Morris Evans (“The War of the Worlds”).
Lisa Mulcahy (“Years and Years”) directed all four episodes.
