WarnerMedia’s HBO premieres its latest Asia original, Screenworks Asia’s thriller/comedy anthology “Twisted Strings”, across platforms in Southeast Asia/Hong Kong/Taiwan on 27 March.
In Taiwan and Indonesia, the series will be simulcast on the Catchplay+ streaming service.
The seven-episode Chinese-language series, executive produced by Hou Hsiao-Hsien (“The Assassin”), premieres with two episodes at 9pm.
New episodes will debut on Sundays with the final two episodes airing back to back on 24 April.
Written and directed by Golden Horse-nominated director, Huang Xi, “Twisted Strings” follows a series of bizarre deaths in Taiping City.
The series stars actress, director and screenplay writer Sylvia Chang (“Love Education”, “20 30 40”); Golden Horse-winning actor Lee Kang-sheng (“Stray Dogs”, “Days”) in his first TV lead role after a long film career; Nikki Hsieh (“I Weirdo”, “Reflections”); and Yo Yang (“Ex-boyfriend”, “Formula 17”).
“Twisted Strings” is produced by Screenworks Asia in partnership with Taiwan’s Bossdom and Singapore’s Mediacorp.
