Today’s big question is whether Singapore will wake up tomorrow with the Disney-owned Fox bundle of linear channels on StarHub – or not.
And if the two have reached a deal, what the new bundle looks like.
The current carriage agreement expires at midnight tonight.
Subscribers haven’t been told that the channels won’t be there, the obligatory crawler has been all-but impossible to find... and no one is commenting.
Best guesses, given the regulatory requirement to notify consumers, is that there’s an extension.
Last we heard the two parties were so far away from each other in terms of price that negotiations had stalled.
StarHub dropped Disney’s three channels on 1 June 2020 after the two companies couldn’t agree on rates.
Speculation is that the linear services will be part of the imminent roll out of Disney+ in Southeast Asia, with Indonesia first up on 5 September with Disney+ Hotstar.
