Philippines leading broadcaster, GMA Network, has rolled out its biggest coverage plans ever for the 2022 general elections, which takes place in May.
The preparation includes signing up 51 partners from a wide range of companies, including telcos, business, law, academia and public service, to contribute to editorial comment.
GMA Network chairman and CEO, Felipe Gozon, said the partnerships were part of the company’s ongoing commitment to good governance.
“The task in front of us, those who help voters make the right choice, is daunting,” Gozon said.
“But our duty to help empower voters and uphold the truth is worth every effort. As individual institutions and organisations, we each carry a tremendous responsibility. But together, we can and we will do what it takes—promote honesty, integrity, and truth in the coming elections,” he added.
“Now more than ever, we need to elect leaders who can best steer our country out of the Covid-19 pandemic, chart our economic recovery and growth, and effectively protect our sovereign rights and economic interests after the second half of next year and six years thereafter,” Gozon said.
