Saudi Arabia-based media group, MBC, has greenlit local version of Japanese commercial broadcaster Nippon TV’s “Mother” and “Woman – My Life for My Children” in a deal with long-time partner, Turkey’s Medyapim.

The new series, announced this morning on day two of Mipcom, gives Nippon TV its first scripted Arabic adaptation.

The announcement was made today by Keisuke Miyata, head of sales for Nippon TV and Fatih Aksoy, chairman of Medyapim.

“Mother” is the story of a woman who responds to an abused girl's silent cries of help.

“Woman – My Life for My Children” is about a mother's unconditional love for her children and her economic plight in a harsh reality.

The MBC Group operates about 17 TV channels and streaming platform Shahid.
