Singapore’s CNA news network premieres its first-ever docu-drama series, “History Unveiled”, this weekend, drawing attention to three three significant moments from the country’s past via a TV series and a micro-site for exclusive interactive content.
The trilogy looks at the cause of the unprecedented three-day shutdown of the Singapore Exchange in 1985 (“Black Thursday”); the impact of the Causeway between Singapore and Malaysia on people’s lives (“The Causeway”) since it was opened 100 years ago; and the mysterious century-old mansion, Karikal Mahal, and the role it played in World War II (“Karikal Mahal: A Silent Witness“).
“History Unveiled” kicks off tomorrow (7 Dec) with the premiere of the two-part “Black Thursday”, filmed by Protagonist by M. The second episode will air on Sunday (8 Dec).
“The Causeway”, commissioned from Third Floor Pictures, debuts on 21 December and the three-part “Karikal Mahal: A Silent Witness”, commissioned from Ochre Pictures, will air from 4 to 6 January 2025. The episodes will also be available on the “History Unveiled” microsite, CNA Video-on-Demand and CNA Insider YouTube a day after each episode’s premiere.
