NBCUniversal (NBCU) has expanded Chris Taylor's role to APAC managing director for TV Distribution and International Networks and DTC. The reorg follows former MD Justin Che's shift to L.A. to become president of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, the company said in an announcement out of Sydney this morning.
Based in Sydney, Taylor, who joined NBCU in 2013, retains his existing remit overseeing content sales/distribution, networks and DTC in Australia and New Zealand as part of his new role.
Taylor reports to Carolyn Stalins, NBCU's executive vice president, sales liaison international, global TV distribution, and Ken Bettsteller, president, international networks and direct-to-consumer, NBCU.
Prior to joining NBCU, Taylor held various executive roles within media and entertainment across APAC, including CEO of Quickflix – where he launched the first SVOD streaming service in both Australia and New Zealand. Before that, he led the digital media interests of Telstra, which saw the introduction of IPTV to Australia, and held various roles at Nine Entertainment Co (formerly Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd) for 11 years.
