ABS-CBN keeps Philippines’ content heritage alive from the end of April with the return of iconic and long-running programme brand – “Maalaala Mo Kaya” or “MMK” – hosted by award-winning actress, Charo Santos-Concio.
Billing the revamp as “a new chapter” and “a new era of storytelling that champions authenticity and inclusivity”, ABS-CBN said at the weekend that the series would present “bolder stories for the new gen”.
The original MMK premiered in May 1991, hosted by Santos-Concio, and went off air towards the end of 2022.
The new “MMK” is a limited 13-episode series that will premiere exclusively on global streaming platform iWantTFC on 24 April, 48 hours before its domestic free-TV/online debut.
The iWantTFC episodes feature the special director’s cut with bolder narratives and emotionally raw, unfiltered scenes, ABS-CBN said.
Among the first episodes to be featured are the inspiring story of “The Voice USA Season 26” champion Sofronio Vasquez III and the story of a member of the Nation’s Girl Group, BINI.
“MMK” will also air on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z every Saturday from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm from 26 April.
