BBC Studios has greenlit its first original production, “Deep Dive Korea: Song Ji-Hyo’s Haenyeo Adventure”, in Korea.

The three-part series is also the U.K. broadcaster’s first co-production with Korean programmer, JTBC, the companies said today.

“Deep Dive Korea: Song Ji-Hyo’s Haenyeo Adventure” focuses on actress Song Ji-Hyo’s adventures and personal journey of discovery with Jeju’s legendary female sea divers (haenyeo).

The series is scheduled to air in early 2025 on JTBC in Korea and BBC Earth across Asia.

Produced with JTBC’s unscripted unit SAY, the series is supported by the Korean Creative Content Agency (KOCCA).
