Asian industry association, Avia heads for its 5 December opening with at least 29 women on its speaker line-up – about 85% of the total speakers announced so far.
This follows a Women First commitment made earlier this year after decades of male-dominated events.
The one-day Avia OTT Summit in Singapore will look at the state of streaming In Asia; the ebb and flow of content; new technologies and emerging trends; and advertising.
Speakers include Malaysian platform Astro’s head of content, Agnes Rosario; Prime Video’s head of originals, India/SEA, Aparna Purohit; GroupM’s chief investment officer, Southeast/ North Asia, Anita Munro; Mediacorp’s chief customer and corporate development officer, Angeline Poh; Viddsee’s SVP, commercial, Michele Schofield; Vision New Media Group CEO, Min Lim; Viu chief of content acquisition and development, Marianne Lee; Warner Bros Discovery APAC head of strategy, partnerships and insights, Shonali Bedi; and Zee5 chief content officer, Hindi Originals, Nimisha Pandey.
The conference takes place a day before the Avia-supported CAP Piracy Over the Top (POTT) 2023 Summit on 6 December, also in Singapore. POTT’s focus is streaming piracy, which Avia says “remains the biggest competitive threat to our industry”.
