Mark Fennessy’s Helium Pictures (“Last King of the Cross”) is working on an Australia/New Zealand version of Korea’s unscripted series, “Unforgettable Duet”, with Jin Woo Hwang’s Seoul-based global format agency, Something Special.
“Unforgettable Duet” premiered on South Korean network, MBN, in September this year. A full series has been greenlit for first half 2025.
The format was created and produced by Something Special and Eun-seol Mo (“Culinary Class Wars”) and co-produced with Studio Rudolph.
The series, billed as a “magical, healing experience”, follows a dementia patient whose families gather mementos and a favourite song to help them recall the past. Together, they ride on a Memory Bus filled with mementos that reveal long forgotten life moments. The show then steps into the studio with a duet performance by the patient and family member, followed with a tribute song to the participant from popular singing artists.
