Malaysia’s Astro is pushing HD upgrades, this month boosting Tamil HD content with pop-up channel Rajini70, Zee Tamil HD from Indian programmer Zee Entertainment, and in-house service Astro Vaanavil HD.

The three brands increase Astro’s Indian HD channels to nine.

Rajini70, which runs to end June, celebrates the 70th birthday of Indian superstar Rajinikanth, and will feature 70 of his movies, including the first – Apoorva Raagangal – and the latest – Darbar.

Astro is offering HD box upgrades at no extra cost.
