Anne Jakrajutatip took her Bangkok-based content/distribution onto the main board of Thailand's Stock Exchange in 2020, looking largely like she bypassed much of the ravages of Covid-19 to drive content exports up 28% and pushing revenue from programme rights sales to THB 1,628.34 million/US$54 million for the full year.
In its latest earnings report, JKN said export sales last year made up 40.82% of the total content business, up from 31.55% in 2019.
JKN's ferocious campaign to drive awareness of Thai drama (primarily from domestic programmer BEC World/Channel 3) beyond domestic borders is credited with rise and spread of Thai content, resulting in unprecedented visibility and scale across the region as well as – so far – in South Africa, Latin America, Sri Lanka and the UAE.
What we're watching for now is where Jakrajutatip goes next with JKN's leading Thai drama distribution position, as well as her next move at home in Thailand.
Jakrajutatip says she is "driven by challenges. I like finding ways to solve any obstacles that come my way either in business or in life. I believe that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it – my passion for winning motivates me".
