Two new Da Vinci Originals – “Marvellous Makes Lab” and “Electricity with Smorph” – premiere on Da Vinci Kids this Fall along with brand new maths games as part of an expanded STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) focused content strategy.
“We are using our expertise in education to produce original content that will keep kids engaged (hopefully in a hands-on way too), alongside meaningful learning takeaways applicable to real life,” says director of content, Luca Fiore.
“Marvellous Makes Lab” and “Electricity with Smorph” teach children STEAM concepts, exploring how things work with experiential activities.
The series aim to “ignite their passion for discovery and stimulate creativity while learning about science, technology and engineering. It also encourages kids to try things, make mistakes, and learn from the experience,” Fiore says.
The latest originals go up in time for the beginning of the school year, and join original titles such as “Search It Up”, “Marvellous Makes” and “One Stop Science Shop”.
“Electricity with Smorph” features original character, Smorph, leading a series of experiments that bring complex science topics to life.
Each episode features easy to follow experiments that teach children about different circuits, electrons, currents and energy, presented in a fun, fresh and engaging way.
The second Da Vinci Original, “Marvellous Makes Lab”, is set in a vibrant science lab and guides kids through fun activities using readily available household items. It asks kids to think about how things work and explains the science involved.
The expanded content strategy will be followed with 21 new brain-boosting maths games, evaluated for effectiveness and proven to educate by Yale University’s Play2Prevent Lab.
