tvN Asia picks up express rights to “Produce X 101”

tvN Asia has acquired its first 18-hour express rights to K-pop competition show “Produce X 101” for its May schedule.

The new season, featuring 101 male contestants born before 2005, premieres in Asia from 4 May and will run Saturdays at 5pm (Singapore) across tvN’s regional footprint.

Winners are chosen by online and live public vote and get to form a new boy band with a five-year contract.

Trainers include rapper Cheetah, singers Lee Suk-hoon and Shin Yoo-mi, as well as dancers Choi Young-jun and Kwon Jae-seung from previous seasons.

This season’s host is Lee Dong-wook.

“Produce X 101” is produced by Ahn Joon-young.

The series has English, Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles.
