HK’s PCCW boosts English-language drama in maiden deal with StudioCanal

Hong Kong’s PCCW has acquired rights to three premium English-language dramas from European distributor StudioCanal.

The deal, announced today on opening day of the ATF market in Singapore, is PCCW’s first acquisition from StudioCanal.

The series will air on English-language free TV channel, ViuTVsix, in 2019.

The package includes four-part thriller “Trust Me”, produced for BBC One and starring Jodie Whittaker (“Doctor Who”, “Broadchurch”) as a nurse who loses her job by whistleblowing.

The other two titles are “Come Home”, about a mother (played by Paula Malcomson) who leaves her husband and three children, and Harlan Corben’s 10-part thriller, “The Five”, written for TV by Danny Brocklehurst.
